The bait and tackle shop Bernhard Fishing in Wichtrach (Canton of Berne) suffered water damage. We were graced with the privilege of being able to renovate the complete lower floor.
Under Water
It is a little ironic when an bait and tackle shop, of all places, is left literally standing under water. But when the pipes burst in 2021, there was absolutely no time to hang around listening to a sailor’s yarn. The lower floor had to reopen as quickly as possible to keep the business afloat.
Land Ahoy
GALA cruised from the planning to the completion of the new floor at ‘full speed ahead’. True to the sentiment of hooked on a feeling , we devised a concept that combines the huge product assortment with the passion for angling – while at the same time using the chance to put new wind into the sails of the business after more than 45 years.
Reeling in customers
When fishing buffs descend the stairs, they find themselves immersed in a brand new world of angling. GALA relies on marine elements to achieve this: Metal like you would find it in a harbor, nets like those used on the high seas, oak like that from a weathered barge and features like fish scales to create atmosphere.
The new interior design also helps Bernhard Fishing to angle potential customers and reel them in for a sale. Best-selling items are placed at strategic focal points to grab the attention. The clear and intuitive layout of the shop then helps the customer to swim with the tide – right up to the cash register.
